THE EDITOR’S MONTH IN PHOTOS
SUMMER extended well into September this year but the dewy mornings and longer nights have definitely arrived, and with them comes some of the best carp
fishing of the year. As I type this it’s the middle of September and temperatures in Kent have just touched 34c. Ridiculous conditions, but fishery bosses must be pretty pleased the warm weather is keeping anglers on the bank beyond the summer holidays.
Shortly after our last issue came out I took an after-work trip to Bluebell Lakes (handily just 15 minutes from our office) and had great fun extracting this turbo-charged mirror from a set of pads. The fish was caught off the surface on my second cast having got the fish competing with Riser Pellets. It really is a brilliant way to fish.
We’ve also been doing some preparation for our annual Euro issue. This giant bivvy, which dwarfs almost everything else on the market and probably comes with its own postcode, is all part of the fun! You’ll have to wait for a future issue to see what we did with it…
