THE summer seems to have flown by this time round, and we have now reached a point where the tackle shops are going to feel that little bit quieter.
I am certainly no business expert but I’d urge tackle shop bosses that intend to plod on as usual to go out of their way and try different things to keep the customers coming in.
Special offers, reducing prices on certain items or even doing ‘buy one, get one free’ promotions on certain items will no doubt tempt a few more anglers into the shop.
We know what anglers are like – they have every intention of buying just two pints of maggots and end up spending £50 on kit!
