Angling Times (UK) - - WELCOME -

HOW successful have the Angling Trust’s links with the EA Enforcement team and national police forces been in protecting our fisheries? The Voluntary Bailiff Scheme and various spin-offs have worked brilliantly, and we need them.

Most anglers are incredulous when I tell them that not buying a day ticket is technically the same offence as stealing a steak from a supermarket. Others have no idea whether to call the EA or the police for various incidents they witness, and blame the EA for not taking action in instances where it is powerless to do so.

Purchase of a rod licence and Angling Trust membership doesn’t abnegate you from responsibility. Join the VBS and, of course, join the Trust if you’re not yet a member. It really does work for you!

Voluntary bailiffs work in your best interests.
