FOUR qualifiers are set to be staged overseas, with discussions currently ongoing to decide the venues. Here are four countries in the running...
HOLLAND – Dutch TV has aired the final for several years so there is definitely a growing appetite for the event in the country. Add to that several suitable venues full of big bream and Holland is definitely a candidate.
IRELAND – The high interest in top-level match angling, along with the varied angling opportunities, will mean that Ireland is certainly in the thoughts of the organisers.
FRANCE – The country has tens of thousands of keen coarse anglers and the great transport links with England will provide anglers here with a fairly easy opportunity to compete in Fish O’Mania abroad.
SWEDEN – Probably not the most obvious candidate, but the silverfish sport in the country is phenomenal and there’d definitely be interest in holding a heat here.
