Steve Ringer takes us through his bid for Feeder Masters glory at Bough Beech

Well, that was the plan for the first-ever Feeder Masters Final! Did it pay off?

THE 2016 Feeder Masters Final at Bough Beech reservoir was one event I’d really been looking forward to this season.

For those that don’t know Bough Beech, it’s a huge, deep water with skimmers, bream and roach the target species.

Pre-event practice was difficult as my calendar is pretty much full in summer, but I did manage one recce trip down to Kent where I did feel I’d worked a few things out.

Fortunately, the final is made up of three days of fishing. The first is a practice match, and on that I actually drew an end peg but still struggled for just over 12lb.

There were odd bream weights but not in the area I was in, so I have to admit I didn’t really learn a lot from that either.
