BANK ON AUTUMN BAGGING
NOT many venues in the North East can boast 400lb pleasure weights at this time of year, but that’s exactly what visitors to Angel of the North Fishery in Co Durham are enjoying.
It’s Lookout Lake where the action is, and anglers have been bagging up on carp and silverfish in the margins or off the deck on pellets fished under a float.
If it’s silverfish you prefer then feeding a little chopped worm and fishing maggot on the hook is advised.
If you like to catch bigger fish, Bowes Lake may be a better option for you.
Despite being a typical match style venue, this lake holds bream into double figures.
A small cage or Method feeder fished just off the island in the deeper water will give the best chance of catching one or two.
