Good that bailiffs are now getting back-up
I HAVE always felt that Environment Agency bailiffs worked hard to stop rod licence dodgers but that they faced an impossible task due to the amount of ground they needed to cover.
There are literally thousands of fisheries in the UK and the small number of EA bailiffs can’t possibly visit every one.
They clearly needed support, and it is great to see they are now getting it from the Voluntary Bailiff Service and the police.
Looking at the amount of money raised from rod licence evasion fines in the last two years, the new and expanded approach definitely seems to be working well. Malcolm Evans, Didcot
