Are otters being blamed for our shortcomings?

Angling Times (UK) - - TACKLE NEWS -

I QUESTION whether otters have really caused the damage that some people think they have.

I have no doubt that some fisheries have been hit really hard and deserve the sport’s support but I believe this to be a localised, not a national, problem.

Just look at Angling Times last week – there were big river fish reported left, right and centre!

A lot of those barbel and chub had supposedly been eaten by otters but they clearly survived the onslaught! Maybe anglers are just lazy and turn to excuses to hide their shortcomings? Mick Leydon, Bromsgrove
