DEVIZES man Kevin Rowles has enjoyed another profitable autumn in Ireland with a win in the annual prestigious King of Clubs competition.

The former Fish O’Mania champion posted 63-280 over the five days, taking hybrids and roach with the odd skimmer from both venues. The pole played more of a part as the days passed, with many fish being caught at short range on maggot and caster over groundbait.

It was tight, though, with Dutch angler Leo Coote taking second after finishing less than 500g behind with 62-790. Overall result: 1 K Rowles, Devizes, 63-280; 2 L Coote, Holland, 62-790; 3 G Charles, Doncaster, 60-780; 4 I Fieldhouse, Tackle 2U, 57-490; 5 S Godfrey, Peterborough, 56-270; 6 J Rodgers, Ted Carter Preston, 56-120.
