The orig­i­nal Dren­nan wire cage feed­ers still take some beat­ing for short­range work.

I use them at places like Porth Reser­voir for skim­mer fish­ing, stick­ing to the smaller Mi­cro, Mini and Small sizes, although I do tend to add a bit of ex­tra lead to them – in their orig­i­nal form they are a bit light.

This al­lows me to get my line tight to the feeder that lit­tle bit quicker once it hits the bot­tom.

This is vi­tal when skim­mer fish­ing, as bites of­ten come on the drop, so the quicker you can tighten up, the bet­ter.
