Angling history - on the cheap
I WOULDN’T know whether to be happy or sad with the result of the auction of Bob Church’s magnificent three-tiered flybox full of flies, as well as other prized items from his tackle collection.
Sure, Bob’s donation to Parkinson’s UK to help battle against the cruel disease which he endures, will make a difference but, as I said a few weeks back, the fly box in particular has historical significance. Imagine the glove that adorned ‘Enery’s ‘Ammer’ that knocked Cassius Clay onto his backside, or Sir Geoff Hurst’s World Cup winning boot going for less than a grand. We need an angling museum. Now.
