Trent revival no dream
IT’S back, the Trent of my childhood dreams!
After reading the ‘Pole V Whip’ article in Angling Times (a great article I might add) it said that the Trent embankment was fishing well, and it’s only four miles away from me. I had to give it a try.
The Trent of my youth was full of fish. You could walk for a mile just to get a swim at the weekend. But in the 1980s and 1990s you could walk miles and not see an angler. Where did all the fish go? My last double-figure net of Trent roach was in 1975 – until, that is, on October 20 this year. I sat on the Trent fishing 12ft of water at my feet, had a bite-a-chuck for five hours and netted 12lb of roach. The memories flooded back, and all thanks to Dave Harrell and Angling Times.
