PICK THE RIGHT POLE ELASTIC
MY IDEAL choice of elastic is a No5 or No6 Browning Hybrid latex. You don’t want to use too light an elastic or y*ou won’t be able to swing fish in, plus a No6 will give you a fighting chance of landing any bigger bonus fish.
I’d only use a lighter No3 or No4 elastic if I was fishing a river or drain for tiny fish with little hooks. I’m a big fan of latex elastic – it’s very soft and forgiving in the first few feet but it powers up to enable small fish to come in comfortably to hand.
