Pellet on bomb and waggler scores on Adams

THIS annual match, in aid of Cancer Research UK, once again drew a big crowd – and with impressive backing from a host of sponsors, more than £1,600 was raised for the cause.

On the fishing front, Oliver Scotthorne strolled home as he weighed in 111-4-0 of carp to 9lb from peg 39 on the Big Adams Lake, fishing pellet waggler and bomb and pellet.

Second was filled by Steve Pearson on Island Lake peg 14 with 66-0-0 of carp on Method and pellet cast to the island.

Match organiser Wayne Westmorland thanked sponsors including Maver Hayfield, Bob-Co, J T Rogers, HRVS Group Ltd, Carlsberg, Bridge and Buckle, Archbold Carshop Morley and many others.

Result: 1 O Scotthorne, Halkon Hunt, 111-4-0; 2 S Pearson, Leeds, 66-0-0; 3 R Bennett, The Oaks, 61-8-0; 4 M Firth, 60-12-0.

The top four on the day with some family input – over £1,600 was raised for Cancer Research thanks to sponsorship from the tackle trade and elsewhere.
