Angling Times (UK) - - THIS WEEK -

THIS unusual-looking pike fell to Scottish angler Robert Farrell from an unnamed loch in Scotland, and pulled the scales round to 30lb 14oz.

Robert tempted it on a 25cm, rudd-coloured Savage Gear Line Thru Roach lure.

It sets a new personal best for the Savage Gear consultant, who said: “I was trolling a lure for hours and then the rod bent round, but I wasn’t sure if it had just snagged.

“When I realised it was a fish I thought it had been foul-hooked, as it felt very heavy but put up very little resistance.”
