Bright, smelly boilies work well in coloured water when chub hunt mainly by scent. Bread is a natural looking small bait that scores in clear river conditions. Pellets are another bait that chub seek out by smell, rather than by sight. A whole lobworm makes a great natural change bait, so bring some to the bank. Chub love maggots, but they may attract the attentions of small nuisance fish as well.
