The tactic has come a long way since the days of the ‘plastic pig’ but I’m delighted to see that the good old maggot feeder hasn’t been forgotten amid the birth and rapid growth of Method, Hybrid and pellet feeders.
Right now it’s THE tactic to get on if you’re fishing rivers and stillwaters.
This week we’ve got advice from our experts, including World Feeder Champ Steve Ringer, whose exclusive column reveals why you’ve got to dig out those old blockends, and explains how to turn every bite into a fish in the net.
What you put in your feeder is crucial, and no-one knows more about bait than Dr Paul Garner. He’s got 10 deadly mixes and some great hookbait edges that will transform your session on rivers and stillwaters. There’s also the age-old problem of sinking the line without moving your feeder out of position, and England Feeder Team manager Tommy Pickering will show you the quickest and easiest way to do it. We’ve also got six simple feeder rigs to tie, plus loads of brilliant waters where you can bag up. Give them a try this week!
