TOP 5 KAYAK TIPS
Always wear a life jacket – kayaks are very stable, but never go afloat without one.
Take a small anchor so you can stay put in a hotspot on a windy day.
If possible, make your first kayak trip with someone who is experienced, and don’t pick too daunting a venue.
Get organised – by placing all the equipment you need close to hand you will fish better and enjoy it more.
Use a landing net with a short handle. You can either cut one down or buy a purpose-made model – a normal length net is difficult to wield.
