CRITICALLY-BALANCED TIGER NUTS

Angling Times (UK) - - CARP NEWS -

WHILE standard hair-rigged tiger nuts will work, using them critically-balanced is better as it makes the hookbait behave more naturally and imitate any tigers that have been loosefed.

To make the rig, add a tiger nut to the hair, then use a nut drill to remove half the centre core of a second tiger.

Push a cork plug into the cavity and trim it flush with the outside of the nut. Thread this second balanced nut on to the hair and attach a rig stop. This second nut acts like a pop-up on a normal Snowman rig, and sits above the bottom nut.

The resulting hookbait has a neutral buoyancy to counteract the weight of the hook.
