Seeing fish in a natural setting should get more people into our sport

Angling Times (UK) - - YOUR FISHING WEEK -

I’VE always thought that something a bit different needed to be done to get more people into fishing, and the proposed underwater viewing area on the River Severn is absolutely spot on.

Take a youngster to a zoo and they are filled with excitement because they get to see animals of all shapes and sizes in the flesh. The same will be true of this new facility on the Severn, for adults and children alike.

Giving people the opportunity to see a variety of species in their natural habitat will almost certainly generate an interest in fish and I’m sure that could easily translate into more people taking up our wonderful sport.
