RIGS AND SHOTTING

Angling Times (UK) - - MATCH NEWS -

My rigs are light but balanced, as there is always the chance of a carp or three, which you’d want to get out in a match. For fishing in very little depth of water this is one of my new F1 Shallow floats in 4x10 or even 4x8 sizes.

Shotting is a string of No11 Stotz, and rigs are made up of 0.11mm Powerline to a 4ins hooklink of 0.10mm Precision Power, No6 original Slip elastic set slack and a size 16 PR412 hook. if I was bagging, this would be upped to a size 14 PR434. This has a wider gape for more positive, quicker fishing.

I’d also have an on-the-deck rig ready. This uses the same lines, hook and elastic with only the float changing to a 4x14 or 4x16 F1 Maggot, depending on the depth and conditions.

My favourite new F1 Shallow float.

Float change for my on-the-deck rig.
