WHETHER a river is low, cold and clear or up and coloured, fish will still feed at some point in the day although, as you say, where you’ll find them can vary greatly.

On a typ­i­cal win­ter river, how­ever, run­ning at nor­mal level and flow with just a touch of colour in the wa­ter, you can nar­row down your search to just a cou­ple of places.
