STAFFORD MOOR FISHERY, WINKLEIGH, DEVON

THE Stafford Moor Silverfish Festival has fished its sock off. Over the course of the week, a mammoth 3,360lb of fish was accumulated.

All lakes fished well, although Tanners and Pines were the pick of the bunch. Tanners produced the biggest perch of 3lb 11oz and Pines threw up the biggest silverfish weight of 61lb 12oz from peg 9.

Natural baits fished over groundbait was the winning tactic for Preston Innovations star Des Shipp. He fished mostly chopped worm over maggot fishmeal groundbait close in to take the overall win with 31lb of skimmers and baby tench on the last day.
