FANCY A 300lb NET OF QUALITY CARP?
WITH carp nets to 300lb there is every incentive to visit Friezeland Pools for plenty of bites this weekend.
It’s all happening on the Lower Match Pool at the moment, where anglers are catching some huge lumps to 12lb using a variety of baits including meat and pellets.
This narrow lake has islands which can be reached with a pole, and this is generally how anglers are catching them – but fish are also feeding readily down the edge too.
If you can’t get on this lake you can catch a net of small carp averaging 1lb on the main Freizeland Pool. A simple float rig is all you need. Simply loosefeed maggots over the top and you can bag-up and catch as many as 100 fish an hour.
Alternatively, if you prefer bigger carp, head to Pam’s Pond, the fishery’s runs water. Here fish to nearly 20lb fall regularly and lower doubles even more so to anglers fishing a Method feeder or bomb.
