Martin Bowler reveals how to catch more barbel with a Method feeder

CONGRATULATIONS to our pal Rob Wootton on winning fishing’s biggest payout – all £70,000 of it – at the Maver Match This Final at Hayfield Lakes. Rob is famously cool under pressure, and he needed that quality in spades at this event.

Leading from the start, Rob had to keep nicking fish on pole, bomb and Method from different spots in his peg to stay a fraction ahead of his rivals. With two minutes to go he was neck and neck with former winner Chris Cameron, then came the bite from a 5lb ghostie which, if landed, would see him win the title and the huge payout.

Even seasoned onlookers couldn’t believe how he calmly played it to the net like it was just another fish on a pleasure session!
