Crucians blow in on a warm wind

Angling Times (UK) - - THIS WEEK -

THIS pleasing pair of big crucians was caught from a stillwater in the North West.

Korum-backed specialist Gary Knowles was celebrating after slipping the net under crucians of 3lb 9oz and 2lb 13oz after a late change of plan.

“I was in the garage, getting my gear out for a predator fishing session, when I felt how warm it was and decided to go for crucians instead,” Gary said.

“It was a pain, because it took me a while to sort all the tackle out, but it was so worth it. Anglers in my neck of the woods usually have to travel across three counties for fish like these, and that’s why it means a lot to me because true crucians are rare.”

The specialist from Cheshire targeted a syndicate water and struck gold when he fished Method feeder tactics with a Sonubaits 6mm Oozing Pineapple boilies.
