Angling Times (UK) - - TIPS & TACTICS -

AS a simple test, try threading different main lines through your various rods and tie them to something static in the garden. Then apply steady pressure to the rod until the line breaks. If you’ve never done this, I wouldn’t mind guessing that many readers will be surprised at just how much steady pressure can be applied without line breakages.

Try the exercise from a distance in an open field or on the riverbank and you might be shocked at just how much you can get away with when the end of your line is attached to something 30 yards away.
