IT’S time for you to vote for your favourites in the prestigiou­s National Angling Awards 2017.

The power to decide who will win the most coveted awards in the sport is firmly in your hands following what’s been an incredible year for fishing – with several record-breaking catches, huge match fishing achievemen­ts and another memorable 12 months for angling on TV.

In a bid to reward the best in the business for their sterling contributi­on to fishing in 2017, Angling Times is calling on every reader to vote for their favourites via our website www.anglingtim­es.co.uk

There will be 29 fiercelyco­ntested categories this year, including Match, Specimen, and Carp Angler of the Year, plus awards given to the best Catch, Stillwater, River, Destinatio­n and the Team of 2017.

The year’s greatest tackle launches will also be rewarded in a series of awards including the Best Poles, Rods, Reels, Baits, Shelters and Accessorie­s.

In addition, the person or goup who has made the biggest difference to our sport over a longer period will be honoured with a special Editor’s Lifetime Achievemen­t Award.

Angling Times Editor-in-Chief, Steve Fitzpatric­k, said: “What a year it’s been for our sport!

“Its been an incredible 12 months for big fish, big match wins, entertaini­ng TV shows, and new tackle which has enhanced our fishing.

“Now it’s up to our readers to decide who deserves recognitio­n for their work and success in 2017.

It’s been an equally impressive year in the tackle market. Hundreds of innovative products have hit the shelves, with new poles, rods, terminal tackle and baits from the biggest names within the industry.

Tackle editor Mark Sawyer says that the buzz within the industry ahead of the awards is bigger than ever before: “This is the annual event that everyone is talking about. The Angling Times National Angling Awards are highly respected within the trade, and the interest grows more and more every year,” he commented.
