COLOUR CHOICE

-

Nothing divides lure anglers more than colour choice. Some swear that it makes no difference to their catches at all, whilst others believe that the fish have very strong preferences, depending upon the conditions.

I sit somewhere in the middle – colour is important, but not as important as lure action, fishing at the right depth and speed, and several other factors. That said, I do have my favourite colours for perch.

Often I will start with a really bright colour – chartreuse green is a good choice. Often a bright colour will bring a quick bite if the fish are active. If I get no response, or the bites dry up, then I will swap to a dark green or brown coloured lure.
