REVEALED: DATES AND VENUES FOR BIG SEMIS

-

THIS year we’ve picked three very prolific fisheries to host the semifinals of the Angling Times Bait Tech Supercup.

First up is the Southern clash at Gold Valley Lakes in Hampshire, where an extensive restocking programme over the last 12 months has seen this famous fishery back on top form.

Middle Lake is now full of F1s alongside carp – the Gold and Syndicate waters remain outand-out carp pools but with good numbers of silver fish present too.

The following weekend sees a double-header, with Northern teams first up at The Oaks Lakes near Thirsk. There’s a bit of a treat at this one as Ash, Beech and Sycamore Lakes, which regularly produce 300lb summer carp nets, await – as does Maple.

Twenty four hours later it’s the turn of an even more prolific fishery for the Midlands clash, Westwood Lakes near Boston seeing Skylark, Falcon and Swallow in use.

Falcon is solid with F1s, while Skylark is reckoned by many to be one of the best match lakes in the UK. Swallow has seen a lot of stocking this winter with bream, roach and skimmers.

We’ve also confirmed the venue to host the grand final on Sunday, September 16. The stunning Barston Lakes complex again welcomes the 15 qualified teams to do battle for the £1,000 first prize and solid silver trophy.

“Reaching a semi-final is a real achievement for a lot of teams and we don’t want them to be fishing a venue where sport can be a bit iffy,” said Match Editor Richard Grange. “I’m particularly looking forwards to the Oaks in the North. The three match lakes are out of this world in terms of the weights they can produce.”
