Angling Times (UK) - - TIP & TACTICS -

1 Keep hooklengths short for chub and you’ll hook more. 2 When using my small-river rig I mould putty around the barrel of the Uni Link swivel. The extra weight helps to pull the hook into the fish’s mouth. 3 In clear water barbel and chub can see the hook, so I use half a boilie on a short hair. It falls over the metal work like a cup, concealing it. 4 When using a Method feeder on rivers make the mix very tacky so it takes at least 15 minutes to be dislodged by the current. 5 For location think ‘extra flow’ as such places are a magnet for early-season fish.
