JANE TAKES LADIES’ BRITISH CARP CUP

-

JANE Henthorn is this year’s Ladies’ British Carp Cup champion.

The England international nearly didn’t complete the 48-hour match at Old Mill Lakes in Lincolnshire, but stayed on to triumph in a tight competition.

A total of 10 of the 14 competitors caught fish, but action was slow.

Jane’s three fish for 42lb 10oz saw her finish ahead of Kellie Margerrison’s three fish for 39lb 2oz and Elaine Taylor’s three fish for 27lb 12oz.

Fourth-placed Paula Marriott caught the most fish – five – but that was for a total weight of just 21lb 12oz.

Champion Jane, who nearly left the event on Saturday afternoon owing to personal reasons, also caught the biggest fish of the weekend at 25lb 7oz.

Event organiser Belinda Coxon said: “Well done, Jane, on your victory. It was very well deserved and lovely to be a part of. You are a popular champion.”
