Angling Times (UK) - - WHERE TO FISH -

(1.6 ACRES)

“Carp are the dominant species in here. They average 4lb-6lb, with the odd low double – much smaller than in the other two lakes. There is a good head of tench and bream in here averaging 3lb, with the odd larger specimen of both species approaching 8lb. Some anglers do well on a Method feeder to the island, but pole anglers tend to fare best.

“I have one regular who often catches 40 tench, 20 carp and a dozen bream in a single session on the pole – you can’t beat the accuracy. However, I grew up with Mr Crabtree, and my traditional method of a waggler in the margins also scores well.

“For any youngsters fishing the lake I’d always advise them to start on maggots, which will keep them busy with plenty of roach, rudd, and perch. A better quality stamp of fish will fall to corn, worm or pellet. The perch in this lake are reported to run to over 3lb. This is my favourite lake on the complex.”
