ASTON PARK FISHERIES, SHEFFIELD, SOUTH YORKSHIRE

The silver fish are feeding really well on Bills Lake. One angler recently put together a 122lb bag consisting mainly of chub in the 8oz-12oz range. Fishthe pole with banded caster and regular feeding and see the float go under all day long. The carp are feeding on all the lakes but are mainly in the shallower areas or up on the surface. Try trickling bait into the margins and fishing meat later on for carp. Contact: 07743 845737 Postcode: S26 5EP

LANGLEY LAKES, PRESTON, LANCASHIRE

The two-acre Specimen Lake is currently fishing better than ever for carp. Single hookbaits or small pop-ups fished in conjunction with a PVA bag have accounted for mirrors to 28lb. The lake holds 50 fish between 13lb and 28lb which were freshly stocked in February this year. The venue also has a match water if you are after plenty of bites from carp, bream, tench, roach and ide. Anglers fishing the pole on this lake with pellets on the hook have managed mixed bags reaching 115lb. Contact: 01772 861901 Postcode: PR3 2JP

LLOYDS MEADOW FISHERY, CHESTER, CHESHIRE

Fox and Heron Lakes are currently fishing well for bags of silver fish. Anglers pole fishing up in the water with maggots are catching plenty of roach, ide and skimmers. Fox is also home to some nice tench and crucians which often fall to expander pellets presented on the bottom. Carp are present in all the lakes but the bigger fish of 10lb-plus often show in Kingfisher to feeder fished maggot or pellets. Contact: 01928 740710 Postcode: CH3 8BD

LOWFIELD LAKES, ROTHERHAM, SOUTH YORKSHIRE

Plenty of action on the pole at the moment for anglers fishing Main Lake. A 40lb 9oz net of silvers was bagged in a recent match which included ide, bream, roach and perch. It’s worth bringing a selection of baits, however, you won’t go far wrong with worms, maggots or casters. The carp in the main lake have reached weights of 24lb and often slip up to anglers fishing with pellets or paste. Riverside Lake offers a lot more carp to target reaching weights of 18lb, while Corner Lake is a mixed pleasure water which has thrown up some real surprises in the past, including a 5lb ide. SWILLINGTON PARK FISHING, LEEDS, WEST YORKSHIRE

Pleasure anglers are enjoying some very productive fishing at the moment on lakes 2 and 3. Fishing the pole with maggots or pellets is proving effective at picking out the bigger bream and tench, both of which average 3b-6lbs in Lake 2. Lake 3 has been fishing particularly well on the warmer days when the resident carp have been up on the surface. Fish to 20lb have been caught off the top but will also show to the Method feeder fished to the far bank or close in to the margins later on in the day. Contact: 0113 2869129 Postcode: LS26 8QA

THE OAKS LAKES, SESSAY, NORTH YORKSHIRE

This 10-lake complex offers a mixture of specimen, match and pleasure fishing waters. Alders Lake is fishing very well at the moment, with anglers catching lots of ide and carp when using chopped worm and caster shallow on the pole. Maple and Poplars will provide action from F1s and carp. The best tactic here is to fish to the island with maggots over a bed of groundbait. If you are after bigger carp then the Willow specimen lake contains fish to mid-twenties which have recently falled to zigs or small PVA sticks. Contact: 01845 501321 Postcode: YO7 3BG
