Angling Times (UK) - - TIPS & TACTICS -

This rig can also be used to lay a deadbait on the bottom and fish it static.

Start by setting the sliding float stop about 2ft overdepth (although in deeper water this may need to be increased a little to allow for the greater drag on the float because of flow in a river or undertow on a stillwater).

Where there is some flow or undertow the float will cock, but in calm conditions it will lie flat.

As soon as a pike picks up the bait the float will cock and then disappear from view.

My pike rig is very versatile.
