Fish­er­men cel­e­brate the sea

THE SEA and all things marine are to be cel­e­brated in a new fes­ti­val in Glas­gow next month.

The Fes­ti­val of the Sea, cre­ated by the Clyde Fish­er­men’s Trust, will be held at the Brig­gait, Glas­gow’s old fish mar­ket, and will show­case fresh and cooked seafood, arts and crafts. There will be live mu­sic, a li­censed bar, whiskies and a pho­tog­ra­phy ex­hi­bi­tion by Ken Dundas and Michael Rus­sell MSP.

Later it’s the pre­miere of the play Some­thing

Fishy by ac­claimed play­wright and artis­tic di­rec­tor Tony Cownie, which cre­ates a glimpse into the life of West Coast fish­er­men. The play will be fol­lowed by a ceilidh fea­tur­ing The Real Stra­mash. It all hap­pens on Satur­day Septem­ber 16, start­ing at 10am.
