Two people arrested after Lochgilphead knife assault
TWO PEOPLE were arrested after a man was injured with a knife on a busy shopping street in Lochgilphead.
Police received reports shortly before 5pm on Friday August 18 of people fighting in the town’s main shopping thoroughfare, Argyll Street.
Amid shoppers and people making their way home from work for the weekend, police attended the scene near the junction of Argyll Street and Lorne Street.
A 45-year-old man and a woman aged 42 were later found and arrested elsewhere in the town.
The man was charged with serious assault and possession of a knife, while the woman was charged with assault. The male victim of the alleged assault received a knife wound, but police confirmed that the injury was not serious or life-threatening.
A report was submitted to the procurator fiscal, and the man and woman charged are due to appear in court at a later date.
