Major roadworks to start on A816
WORK is set to start on a major road improvement project in Lochgilphead.
The £130,000 scheme will see Bishopton Road and part of the A816 Lochgilphead-Oban road, either side of the junction, resurfaced and improvements made to drainage on the A816.
Work is set to start on Monday August 28 and is due to be completed by Tuesday September 5.
The junction on to the A816 from Bishopton Road will be closed on Monday and Thursday August 31, subject to change. Residents are asked to follow signs and traffic management on the roads.
The council advises that, during the works, Bishopton Road should be used for local access only, as there will be delays to traffic.
The alternative route via the A816, A83 and Argyll Street, Lochgilphead, should be used where possible.
