A chance to shine for Argyll’s young artists
A SHOWCASE of young artistic talent will light up Lochgilphead.
An exhibition ‘Into the Light’ featuring new work by up-andcoming artists will be on display in the barn at Achnabreck Farmhouse, just outside Lochgilphead on September 16 and 17.
The exhibition will host a huge variety of art, ranging from sculpture and painting to video and music. Most of the works on show will be available for purchase.
This offers one of the few opportunities for young artists in Argyll to showcase their artistic talent in an open exhibition, with all the exhibitors under the age of 25.
‘We are really excited to be able to showcase the incredible talent of the young artists within our area,’ said 16-year-old Holly Smith - co-organiser of the event with Beth Qualter Buncall, aged 17.
Beth and Holly have been holding art workshops with local primary schools, allowing pupils to learn new techniques to express their artistic talents. Some of these wonderful artworks will also be on display at the exhibition.
Running alongside the exhibition will be an art lucky dip, where members of the public can purchase a mystery piece of artwork for just £5.
The exhibition is open between 10am and 5pm on both days. Entry is free, but parking is very limited.
