Law catches up with fine dodger

Argyllshire Advertiser - - NEWS -

A LOCHGILPHEAD fine dodger paid up to £300 for penalties he owed after having his bank account frozen.

The unnamed man was originally found guilty of two counts of driving without insurance at Lochgilphead Justice of the Peace Court.

The Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service (SCTS) can recover unpaid fines through freezing bank accounts and arresting wages.

Effective

SCTS chief operations officer David Fraser said: ‘Fines enforcement teams continue to be highly effective in securing unpaid fines.

‘Failure to pay, or to engage with our officers, will result in sanctions being taken including arrestment of wages, bank accounts, your car being clamped or being arrested when travelling abroad.’
