The Conservative councillor for Kintyre and the Islands will be leaving Portnahaven Post Office on October 5.
He has worked at Portnahaven for 12 years, starting out in the job aged 17, and was believed to be the youngest postmaster in the UK at the time.
Councillor Redman aged 30, said: ‘I am leaving the post office to concentrate on being a full time councillor.
‘I would just like to say a huge thanks to all the customers and everyone who has supported me over the years.
