Lochgilphead women achieve top Red Cross honour
TWO LOCHGILPHEAD women have been recognised by the Red Cross for their selfless dedication as they received a rare honour.
On Sunday October 29, Esther Agnew and Linda Tighe were presented with the British Red Cross badge of honour at the final annual meeting of the West of Scotland Voluntary Council.
Both Linda and Es- ther have served on this council for many years, but changes to service structure mean that councils are being disbanded.
Esther currently works at the Red Cross Shop in Lochgilphead and has been a loyal member of the organisation for nearly 60 years.
Linda is well known for organising the Red Cross coffee mornings. She currently carries out hand and arm massage at a local care home and at the Dochas carers’ centre.
Linda Tighe and Esther Agnew were delighted to receive the badge of honour from the Red Cross.
