Red Star cel­e­brate his­toric sea­son

Red Star held their an­nual prize­giv­ing at the Stag Ho­tel, Lochgilp­head, on Saturday June 9 when play­ers, coaches and fam­i­lies cel­e­brated the foot­ball club win­ning its first league ti­tle in 30 years.

A de­li­cious meal was en­joyed by the team be­fore the prizes were awarded. An ex­cel­lent night was had by ev­ery­one – with a few sore heads the fol­low­ing morn­ing.

The Tommy Welch Memo­rial Shield for Player of the Year went to Aaron Moore.

Goal of the Sea­son went to Lee Ma­cLean for his spec­tac­u­lar strike in the game against Dun­can­rig.

Most Im­proved Player was awarded to Ben Forbes.

Kieran Moore went home with the Play­ers’ Player of the Year, Young Player of the Year and Top Goalscorer with 61 goals.

The play­ers pre­sented the man­age­rial and coach­ing team of Dou­glas Moore, An­drew Weir and Dun­can Ma­cLean with com­mem­o­ra­tive tro­phies as thanks for guid­ing the team through­out the sea­son.

Man­ager Dou­glas Moore also of­fered thanks to spon­sors ShareAr­gyll, RJD Brick­work, Café 35, Rum­ble­tums Café, Danny’s and the Vic­to­ria Ho­tel.
