SMALL BUT VERY BEAUTIFUL

Argyllshire Advertiser - - FEATURE -

For such a tiny community Fionnphort is always busy – with visitors heading for Iona and as home to a busy fishing fleet; crabs and lobsters landed here are exported to Europe. Check out:

The stunning views over to Iona; the beaches around Fidden and Erraid – the island featured in RL Stevenson’s novel Kidnapped, (he moved the location slightly). There is a general store, shop and Post Office, restaurant and café all in the village and a wide variety of accommodation in and around. The Columba Centre is home to a gallery and shop. The journey: The A849 brings you from Craignure, through Pennyghael and Bunessan, home of the Ross of Mull Historical Centre. Hopscotch: Tobermory for Kilchoan - explore Ardnamurchan; Fishnish to Lochaline – take the long way to Fort William or Oban.
