Tarbert Garden competition results
Tarbert Horticultural Society unfortunately had to discontinue its annual flower show, but has kept the gardens competition alive.
The Tarbert gardens have now been judged, and appropriate trophies awarded as follows:
The Harvey Bowl for the best over-all garden was awarded to Hilary Sinclair, Four Winds, who had a fine display of both vegetables and flowers.
The Argyll and Bute Trophy for the best housing scheme garden goes to Dugald Black, whose display of roses in Church Terrace was exceptional during this year’s long warm summer.
The Flora McColl Cup for the best small garden has been won by Elma MacDonald, who has created a niche corner at the entrance to her house at the Old Police Station, which brightens that part of the village.
The many hanging baskets, noted at various points around Tarbert, also came in for favourable comment.
Thanks are due to Ian McLachlan for organising this year’s judging.
