Google to Build New $850 Mil­lion Data Cen­tre in Sin­ga­pore

Hav­ing opened its first data cen­tre in Sin­ga­pore in 2011, Google is now set to launch its third such fa­cil­ity within the city, cost­ing more than $850 mil­lion.

It is es­ti­mated that 70 mil­lion users have come on­line for the first time in Sin­ga­pore since the com­pany opened its sec­ond data cen­tre there in 2015, a new mar­ket that this data cen­tre will look to ser­vice.

The fa­cil­ity will use the lat­est in ma­chine-learn­ing pow­ered clean en­ergy tech­nol­ogy, di­vert­ing 100 per­cent of the fa­cil­i­ties waste away from land­fill and us­ing re­cy­cled wa­ter.
