AF­TER look­ing for­ward to see­ing the men’s 4x400m squad fi­nally get their medals (and oth­ers in due course) I was in­censed the that the BBC’s “three wise ladies” could not shut up for five min­utes so that we could lis­ten to the sta­dium an­nouncer in Lon­don.

Why did they feel the need to talk over it? Good broad­cast­ing is when to know to shut up.

It’s like a DJ talk­ing over the word­less in­tro of a record!

Also, why didn’t the or­gan­is­ers make the pre­sen­ta­tion on the in­field?
