THE IAAF has ap­proved the ap­pli­ca­tion of a fur­ther eight Rus­sians to com­pete in­ter­na­tion­ally as neu­tral ath­letes.

They in­clude Ilia Iva­niuk (high jump), Sergej Litvi­nov (ham­mer), Alena Lutkovskaia (pole vault), Danil Ly­senko (high jump),

Sofia Palk­ina (ham­mer), Valery Pronkin (ham­mer), Vladislav Saraykin (race walk) and Eka­te­rina Sokolenko (3000m steeple­chase).

The IAAF said last week that in to­tal dur­ing 2017 there have been 47 ap­proved ap­pli­ca­tions, of which nine were for the World Un­der-18 Cham­pi­onships and two were for the Euro­pean Un­der-20 Cham­pi­onships, while a to­tal of 109 ap­pli­ca­tions have been de­clined.
