Two-day Anniversary Games returns
THE Müller Anniversary Games is to return as a two-day meeting in 2018, with the first evening of action being billed as a ‘sprint night under the lights’ at the London Stadium.
Taking place on July 27 and 28, organisers have announced that the Friday night will feature events including a 100m final before the track and field programme continues on the Saturday.
Formerly known as the London Grand Prix and held at Crystal Palace, the meeting forms part of the IAAF Diamond League series and was renamed the Anniversary Games in 2013 when it was held at the London Stadium a year after the London 2012 opening ceremony. It returned in 2014 as a street athletics event at Horse Guards
Parade and The Mall, with the Diamond League meeting held in Hampden Park in Glasgow while the London Stadium was undergoing redevelopment.
The London Stadium has been the venue for Anniversary Games meetings since.
