Two-day An­niver­sary Games re­turns

THE Müller An­niver­sary Games is to re­turn as a two-day meet­ing in 2018, with the first evening of ac­tion be­ing billed as a ‘sprint night un­der the lights’ at the Lon­don Sta­dium.

Tak­ing place on July 27 and 28, or­gan­is­ers have an­nounced that the Fri­day night will fea­ture events in­clud­ing a 100m fi­nal be­fore the track and field pro­gramme con­tin­ues on the Satur­day.

For­merly known as the Lon­don Grand Prix and held at Crys­tal Palace, the meet­ing forms part of the IAAF Di­a­mond League se­ries and was re­named the An­niver­sary Games in 2013 when it was held at the Lon­don Sta­dium a year af­ter the Lon­don 2012 open­ing cer­e­mony. It re­turned in 2014 as a street ath­let­ics event at Horse Guards

Pa­rade and The Mall, with the Di­a­mond League meet­ing held in Ham­p­den Park in Glas­gow while the Lon­don Sta­dium was un­der­go­ing re­de­vel­op­ment.

The Lon­don Sta­dium has been the venue for An­niver­sary Games meet­ings since.
