CUMBRIAN BOYS BLAST TO DESERVED VICTORY
KENDAL AC beat Aldershot in a thrilling and close race as James Bowen pipped Aldershot anchorman Ethan Scott in the final stage to see the north-west team triumph.
Harry Bowen, James’ twin brother, ran the second leg and Henry Hunter the opening stage as the boys from the Lake District took the win.
They are coached by Steve Priestley and combine crosscountry running with fell running – and a bit of track racing from time to time – to build their stamina and speed.
“We’re very happy to win and it was so hard,” the boys all agreed.
In the past, the club’s women have excelled with runners like Sarah Tunstall and Rebecca Robinson but could a new generation of young men be ready to fly the club’s flag?
